At the time Claudius II, the emperor, banned marriages because he thought marriage made bad soldiers. St. Valentine's thought the decree to be unjust and unfair so he took the initiative to marry many soldiers in secret. He was eventually caught, jailed, and sentenced to death. While in jail, he fail in love with the jailer's daughter and was executed February 14th. His last love letter to her was signed "from your Valentine". How did Valentine's Day Begin? The first Valentine's day happened in the year 496, it is said to have originated from a Roman festival called Lupercalia mid-February, which was the official start of their springtime. As part of the celebration boys and girls would draw names from a box and become boyfriend and girlfriend during the festival and some got married.
Later, the church wanted to turn this into a Christian celebration and decided to use it to remember St. Valentine's as well. Eventually, St. Valentine's name started to be a term people used to express feelings to those they loved.

Pizza HistoryNo one knows for sure when or how National Pizza Day was created. All we know is how pizza originated in Rome, from placenta bread covered in various layers of herbs, sauce and cheese.
Nonetheless, even though these placenta bread were technically pizzas, it wasn’t until the 18th century that the modern pizzas were invented. The people of Naples, Italy created flat bread dishes covered in garlic, basil, cheese and not too soon after tomatoes. Pizza started to slowly make its way to the United State in the 19th century when Italian immigrants began to bring them here. Nevertheless, it wasn’t until the soldiers returning home from World War II with a developed taste for it from Italy, that the popularity of pizzas in the U.S. market began to explode, making it one of the most popular foods in America to date. 2019 Chinese New Year is the Year of the pig, Yeah!!!
